Hello. Lest you think I've been resting on my laurels I have
some incredibly early no-graphics yet videos to show you, with some more
insight on who the cast will be filling guys with. Before I figure out anything
about anything, I try to see if the ideas I have are possible. I'm past the
"can he walk from left to right and punch" phase. He can. I'm trying
to see if I can get some of my ideas for powers into the game. If an Idea does
work, then the character I want it for is more likely to apear, and I'm more
willing to potentially invest in his or her graphics. Let's see.
Bouncy disk type weapon.(not in the video)
There isn't much more to check out on this one. A weapon
that bounces off walls conveniently in the direction of enemies, sort of like
the Chakram Xena used to throw. I made it for Comandette, who I plan to be a
character who switches weapons. I made
it as a homage to Predator, since the character herself will be a homage to a
certain character from a certain Arcade game that
certainly had aliens and predators in it.
Homing strike
A homing attack was one of the first thing s I knew I had to
figure out before anything else. It was surprisingly smooth, and I've even
instituted an early reaction to the attack. I plan it for THIS GUY, whose name is still something I'm
not sure I should write when reffering to this potentially for profit project
I'm making. I wasn't sure I was going to
have a speedster, but the costume was too cool to pass up.
The Grenade.
Also for Owlgirl. I'm
Figuring this out means I'm roughly one attack away from making her a
full fledged character. You're gonna
love it! It's a stun grenade with some bouncing arch to it.
Flamethrower
This one's in the bag. While
I graphically added a
stereotypical gas mask and tank, I'll
more likely make it Inferno's main attack, with some potential to be also by
Comandette.
Telekinesis
Telekinesis is one of those things I see being great fun
if done right. I've succesfully made most of it, though.
As for the whom, I'm not yet ready to reveal. It'd kind of
spoil a surprise.
Bounceable arrowashot
I'm gonna level with you: I hate archer superheroes. I hate
Hawkeye, I hate Green Arrow, and those are the two ones I could come up with.
Arrows are never cool in my book. But...I was
inspired to make one based on a concept with potential. In the Nes
classic Darkwing Duck, there are "plunger bullets" that Darkwing
sticks to the wall and then uses as plataforms. I thought that was pretty
genious, but they didn't do much with it. I thought it's be cool to use arros
as trampolines, so I tried making a game about that. It went nowhere. But since
then, I've mastered the arts, and am now ready to put it in this game, on
Golden Archer.
The progress is going pretty well, and I also want to talk
about the collective lives system. For
the planned multiplayer coop mode, each
player gets no more than 5 lives, the resto going to what I've dubbed the
Livepool. This should add a nice twist into the coop.
